Thursday, 26th March 2015 – the eighth day of our stay in Kayseri.
The day started with the workshops called “Ministerial systems of management of information in e-school” and “MEBBIS (National Education Ministry ICT Systems) conducted by Mr Yuksel Aydin. He presented the system of management in school http://e-okul.meb.gov.tr/ and the internet website of government administration for management of the education system in all the country: https://mebbis.meb.gov.tr/ . Both systems are being developed at the moment and according to the plan of the development of education it should be obligatory in all the country within 2 years.
The implemented systems reflect the government aspiration for integration of the education system in all country. Each system consists of modules devoted to certain activities ( work, courses, trainings, schools, textbooks, statistics, professional consulting, etc.) or to groups of people ( schools, teachers, school staff, students, parents, school superior units). The system aims at joining various parts of the country and creating equal opportunities for development and education. We compared the systems of professional trainings and discussed the advantages and disadvantages of centralization of the information in education.
On this day we were invited to Call Center (Alo 147) Modu-Visiting Vocational High School, where we were welcomed by the Headmaster and a group of students. After short presentation of our group the students told us about themselves and their school. We were later showed round the school. We were impressed by the equipment in the classrooms , the looks and organization of the school library and the friendliness of the students. We took part in the classes of history of literature where we were presented the way of use of the interactive board for faster memorizing the contents of the texts.
We also liked the system of lockers in which students leave their mobile phones before the classes.
