Thursday, 19th March 2015 – the first day of our stay in Kayseri.
We were welcomed by Mr Yilmaz Metin Unal who was performing the role of a Turkish coordinator. Despite the long and tiring journey we went for the first meeting with the representatives of the partner school. At the entrance we were met by Mr Zahir- the English teacher who kept us company within all the stay in Kayseri and was an interpreter from Turkish into English. After an official meeting Mr Selcuk Erdem – the headmaster of the partner Technical School in Kayseri told us about his school and the system of education in Turkey. We had an opportunity to see the classrooms and administration offices.
On the same day we participated in the first course of the planned mobility. Mr Tarik Koc introduced the principles of creating and managing the school budget, the methods of planning and scheduling the activities of an educational institution. We learned about the system of school financing and the employment system, systems of personnel payment in Turkish schools. It was a very interesting course. Together we were talking about the similarities and differences of Polish and Turkish systems of education. After the course, at the common dinner, we had very long discussions. Together we marked down the downsides and the adventages of both systems.
